Seillans, named “One of the most beautiful villages in France”, awaits you its in its verdant forest.

As it looks today, the village, presents the eye with the harmonious geometry of its stacked rows of houses and the distinguished alliance of stone and the landscape. Among this foliage, the old pinkish hues of the mossy tiles and the endless sparkles of the walls caressed by the light are juxtaposed with shades of ochre and grey.

When you enter the village you are greeted by its cheery streets and alleyways, always peppered with flowers, its vaulted passageways and cobblestone pavements known as calades.

With a medieval village, the Sarrasine portal, a feudal castle, its cobblestone streets, a 12th-century chapel, and an 11th-century church, Seillans has an historical heritage as rich as any village in the Pays de Fayence.

Largely Celto-Ligurian at the time of the French Revolution, Seillans has been subjected to a number of influences that you can explore through guided tours of the village (tours and explanatory maps available at the tourist office).
